Description
Concussion Mild Traumatic Brain Injury course is developed to provide the most current information for physical therapy professionals who provide care and management for individuals who have sustained Concussion or Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), such as wounded warriors, athletes, children, or older adults.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the population at risk for concussion or mild traumatic brain injury
- Discuss types of brain injury
- Describe the physiologic effects on the brain during a concussion
- Describe the signs and symptoms of a concussion
- Discuss the clinical assessment to evaluate the symptoms to optimize care to improve outcomes
- Discuss the Glasgow Coma Scale
- Discuss appropriate diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation of concussion patients.
- Apply appropriate techniques to implement the “return to work/play” strategy.
