Description
Acute and chronic leukemias are aggressive forms of cancer that start in the stem cells of the blood and can be fatal without immediate treatment. Although acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is still a devastating illness, a significant number of patients can now be cured with intensive chemotherapy. This course aims to define leukemia, describe current treatment options, and provide information on the characteristics, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of the primary types of leukemia. The course will provide a basic overview of leukemia, focusing on diagnosis and patient management strategies while highlighting risk factors and prevention strategies.
