Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is common among patients seeking dental care. This online education program is created to help dental healthcare professionals stay updated on identifying the symptoms and treatments for patients with OSA. The course will provide an overview of the dental perspective, including screening, diagnosis, treatment options, appliance treatment, mandibular positioning techniques, and follow-up reevaluations.

Upon completion of the Obstructive Sleep Apnea course, you will be able to:

• Discuss the significance of sleep Apnea and differentiate between snoring and sleep apnea.
• Understand normal breathing and airway anatomy and the problems and variants that lead to snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
• Recognize the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of OSA
• Understand the role of dentists in diagnosing OSA
• Identify the treatment options for OSA
• Recognize the side effects of oral appliance therapy and its management.
