Description
This course (Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation) aims to teach the intricacies of pelvic floor rehabilitation for common pelvic dysfunction diagnosis. This course describes the functional anatomy of the pelvic floor and how to teach proper contraction and release of the pelvic floor muscles. The course describes various forms of urinary incontinence, and the possible combinations of multiple diagnoses, and helps clinicians diagnose underlying contributors to pelvic floor weakness. The course describes the effectiveness of electrical stimulation and biofeedback in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. A large focus is the appropriate progression of pelvic floor strengthening and integration of Kegels and pelvic floor relaxation into ADL. Those who partake in the course should learn the effects of pregnancy and childbirth on pelvic floor health, and understand the effects of prolapses and how to effectively strategize prolapse treatment options. This course also describes common causes of pelvic pain and helps clinician develop treatment strategies for patients with pelvic pain based on specifics of the diagnoses. Lastly, those who partake in the course should learn that pelvic rehabilitation is not just Kegeling, it is an intricate process of understanding the underlying causes of conditions and treating from many angels to fully rehabilitation those with pelvic dysfunction.
