This comprehensive overview will enhance your ability to care for patients receiving stem cell transplants throughout the cancer continuum. This course (Stem Cell Transplants) aims to provide information about the importance of HSC transplantation and the role played in collection, processing, administration, and the patient’s ongoing care after transplant. The sources of stem cells used in transplants, their application in the treatment of malignant and nonmalignant disorders, and the complications associated with transplantation are also discussed. Upon completion of this activity, the learner will apply evidence-based care concepts of blood and marrow transplant as well as symptom management and acute and chronic complications of stem cell transplants into nursing care.
