Therapists Role in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes – 5 Hours

$35.00

Description

Cardiovascular disease and diabetes are two prevalent health conditions in today’s society. All healthcare workers, including physical and occupational therapists, should play a role in preventing and treating these conditions. Although many physical and occupational therapists do not specifically treat cardiovascular disease and diabetes, both professionals can contribute to the treatment of these disease processes. If a physical therapist is involved in cardiac rehabilitation, they will have a more direct role in the treatment of cardiovascular disease and, possibly, diabetes. However, in any setting that involves direct patient care, it is important for both physical and occupational therapists to have a thorough understanding of these conditions to provide the best care possible. These diseases are common, and it is imperative that any therapist involved in direct patient care comprehends these disease processes and has the ability to educate patients on how to manage their care effectively. This course will focus on these diseases and how a physical or occupational therapist can care for patients with these conditions.
