Description

The main objective of therapy for patients with dementia is to preserve their independence and cognitive capabilities for as long as possible. Depending on the patient’s medical condition, the therapy may involve physical therapy, cognitive therapy, occupational therapy, and other exercises. This course is designed to cover the fundamental aspects of physical and occupational therapy interventions in treating dementia and associated disorders. It discusses different treatment methods for patients with dementia in various rehabilitation settings and emphasizes the importance of caregiver support in reducing hospital readmissions for patients receiving home health care for dementia.
