This course is designed to provide continuing education for all healthcare professionals who care for patients with or are at risk of developing wounds. Various factors can increase the likelihood of difficult-to-treat wounds. With an aging population and an increasing number of people with diabetes mellitus, which is associated with various types of wounds, healthcare professionals in all settings should be familiar with skin integrity issues. This includes identifying risk factors associated with altered skin integrity, recognizing different types of wounds, implementing preventative measures, and carrying out effective interventions. The course aims to provide healthcare professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the causes, treatment options, and prevention strategies available for the different types of wounds they may encounter in their professional settings.
