The goal of this continuing education program is to inform and heighten awareness of healthcare providers about the emergence of the Zika virus both in the U.S. and internationally and to provide the most current information on Zika virus epidemiology, clinical presentation, screening/diagnosis, management, prevention and recommendations for pregnant women and testing of infants with possible congenital infection with Zika virus.

- Describe the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, management, and prevention of Zika virus disease
- Discuss diagnostic testing for Zika virus infection and interpretation of test results
- Articulate the importance of early recognition and reporting of cases
- Recommendations for pregnant women with a travel history to Zika Virus affected areas
- Discuss the evaluation of infants with microcephaly and the relationship between Zika and microcephaly
- Guidelines for Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Zika Virus Infection.
