Description
Running has become an increasingly popular form of exercise; however, it also carries a significant risk of injury, particularly to the lower limbs. To ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, clinicians must conduct a comprehensive patient history and appropriate evaluations. The Management of Running Injuries course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills to accurately diagnose and manage these common injuries, ultimately enhancing patient care.
Upon completion of the Management of Running Injuries course, you will be able to:
- List the most common running injuries involving the lower extremity.
- Describe each of the most common conditions, including potential mechanisms of injury and risk factors.
- Evaluate the injured runner in the clinic.
- Develop injury-specific treatment plans using current evidence.
- Incorporate a return-to-running program with guidelines for pain and soreness.
