The Oncology Massage course provides up-to-date research and best practices for working safely and effectively with clients who are currently living with cancer or have a history of the disease. Participants will learn general massage techniques appropriate for cancer patients, along with an introduction to Manual Lymphatic Drainage, which can support these individuals during treatment and recovery.

Upon completion of the Oncology Massage course, the participants will be able to: 

• Understand the fundamentals of oncology massage, including its significance and role in cancer care.
• Explain the lymphatic system, the impact of cancer on the body, and the relationship between cancer and pain.
• Identify safety considerations when providing oncology massage, including adapting pressure, site, and speed; proper positioning and draping for comfort and safety; and recognizing contraindications.
• Conducted patient assessments and designed effective oncology massage sessions utilizing various techniques and approaches.
• Comprehend the emotional and mental impacts of cancer, including the importance of empathy, active listening, and maintaining appropriate boundaries while supporting clients throughout their journey.
• Analyze case studies to develop treatment plans and effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Explore ethical considerations in the practice of oncology massage.
• Engage in practical applications of oncology massage techniques, including role-playing patient interactions, receiving feedback, and improving skills.
